The blades of the Silky Gomboy hand saws are made of high carbon steel and their shape is precisely laser cut. The surface of the saw is chrome plated, which protects it from rusting and damaging effects on the blade. The main advantage of Gomboy saws is the teeth of the blade.

The aggressive teeth are ground in four planes and the induction hardening hardens only the edges of the teeth, while the rest of the teeth are soft and elastic, which protects the teeth from possible breakage during work. In addition, the surface of the cutting section is hourglass-shaped, so there is no risk of the saw jamming when cutting. The profile of the teeth reduces resistance when cutting and the material being cut is not ragged. All Silky Gomboy saw models have replaceable saw blades.

Silky Gomboy saws are equipped with a 270 mm long blade and an ergonomic handle made of durable and rubberized plastic. The handle material prevents the saw from slipping out of your hand and ensures comfortable and safe work. The cutting surfaces are therefore perfectly smooth. The cut is made by pulling the saw blade towards you without using excessive force.

Technology

Chromed finish

Chroming the blade makes its surface extremely hard and durable, while reducing friction and increasing blade life. In addition, chrome plating protects the blade from rust and resin. Silky polishes the blade to a silky smooth finish before applying the chrome plating. This allows the blade to encounter even less resistance from the wood when cutting.

Electro-pulse hardening

The tips of the teeth are heated to a very high temperature for a fraction of a second. Because only the tip (or in other words, the cutting part) of the tooth is heated, the rest of the tooth retains not only its cutting quality but also its flexibility. Induction-hardened teeth have three times longer life than untreated teeth. They cannot be ground and you can tell by the black tips of the teeth.

Mirai-Me teeth

The razor-sharp teeth are precisely ground into the blade, each with 3 blades, resulting in an extremely smooth surface. For optimum sawdust removal, every so many teeth (depending on the saw model) are ground outwards. This unrivalled patented MIRAI-ME technology allows the saw to be used for 3 types of cutting: cross-cutting (perpendicular to the grain direction), rip-cutting (parallel to the grain direction) and mitre-cutting. For pruning work, the smooth saw cut allows the tree wound to be easily regrown. In joinery, the smooth saw cut provides an excellent finish so that no sanding is required.

Misaligned teeth

The teeth are precisely ground into the blade, each with 4 cutting surfaces. The teeth are "unfolded" so that the cutting surface cuts directly into the wood, destroying approximately 50% fewer wood cells. The blades are double-edged: the lower part of the blade (near the teeth) is the thickest, the upper part is slightly thinner and the blade in the middle is the thinnest. This design has several advantages: it has less energy consumption when cutting, effortlessly removes sawdust (it does not get stuck in the wood), very clean cut - no breaking or tearing of the wood, produces a very precise and smooth cut.

Rubber handle GOM

The GOM rubber handle absorbs vibrations when cutting and ensures excellent grip even when wet or wearing gloves. In addition, this handle always provides comfortable warmth, even at extremely low temperatures.
