Handheld meteorological instrumentKestrel 2500 measures wind and temperature with absolute precision, plus it is equipped with an air pressure sensor that provides information on altitude and barometric pressure. Kestrel 2500 technology allows you to monitor changes in air pressure to help predict impending weather changes. When you add the Kestrel 2500's digital altimeter, you have most of the weather information you need for outdoor activities from flying model airplanes to practicing with a rifle.

As with all Kestrel instruments, the model 2500's sensitive and user-replaceable blade technology provides accurate wind speed information. In addition, an external temperature sensor and waterproof housing allow you to measure the temperature of water and snow as well as free air. A hard retractable case, lanyard and battery are included.

The Kestrel 2500 was created as a basic model for long-range shooters at an affordable price and for someone who doesn't need the built-in ballistic features of the 5700 Elite or other Kestrel Ballistics Line devices.

For those who use it at night, the Kestrel 2500 Olive Drab NV is equipped with a night vision preserving backlight. This backlight contains an optical filter that reduces overall brightness and minimizes the blue and green spectrum of light to preserve night vision. (Note: This backlight appears as a soft gray-pink, not "red", and is still in the visible spectrum, so it is not compatible with night vision devices.)
