The pistol is labeled Glock 19X as "Crossover" - it is a combination of G17 frame and G19 slide.xml:namespace prefix = "o" ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /

The Glock 19X is based in part on the G19 MHS (Modular Handgun System), which, along with the SIG P320, participated in a tender for a new service pistol for the U.S. Army.
It differs from the military version only by the absence of a double-sided manual safety on the frame.

Glock 19X has all the elements of Gen 5 - i.e.barrel with new bore, double-sided bolt catch control, redesigned trigger mechanism, 2.25kg trigger guard, different firing pin and firing pin lock safety, etc.

At the same timebut it's got a different shape for the magazine well. The frame has no finger recess (like the Gen 5) but lacks a hole in the front for the extended magazine shoe.
The shaft is also not flared at the bottom like the standard Gen 5. Instead, it isframe stretched down for shooting with tactical gloves. Due to the lack of a hole and stretch in the front of the gun, Gen 5 magazines cannot be used. However, all other generations of magazines are compatible. The frame also has a removable lanyard loop.

Pistols are fitted with tritium sights and are supplied with three magazines - 1x for 17 rounds plus 2x 17+2 rounds with a shoe.

The pistols have such a new finish (nPVD slide coating / Physical Vapour Deposition) in sand colour. The paint is applied by spraying and vacuum steaming.

Compared to the tenifered finish on previous generations of Glock pistols, the evaporative coating of the solid phase produces an ultra-thin combination of 2µm layers that have several advantages -high hardness, high slip resistance (less friction of individual parts) goodresistance to abrasion and high temperatures (up to 750°C), as well as good corrosion and acid resistance.
