Environmentally friendly impregnation, developed byFjällräven for material productsG-10000®. After the wax has been rubbed in and then heated, the surface becomes waterproof.

Wax impregnation is made of paraffin and beeswax.It gives the products water repellency and improves the resistance of the material.

How to use the wax to impregnate the G-1000

The waxing of the G-1000 substance consists of two steps:

1. Grasp a cube of Greenland Wax and apply the wax evenly to the area you want to impregnate.
2. Using a hairdryer or iron, heat the fabric until the wax softens and soaks into the fabric.

Tip! To achieve higher water resistance, we recommend reapplying several thin layers of wax instead of one thicker layer.

Impregnation   in   terrain

• You can easily increase the water resistance of your clothing in the field. 
• Grasp the block of Greenland Wax and apply the wax evenly to the area you want to impregnate.
• Hold the garment a few decimetres above a steady flame, such as your field stove. The fabric must not be too close to the flame, as the flame could jump onto the wax layer and damage the garment.
• Hold the garment over the flame and move it slightly closer and further away until the wax soaks into the fabric.

Removal of     wax

You can remove the wax layer from the fabric, which is very practical for staying in warm and humid areas. Without the wax impregnation layer, the breathability of the fabric is maximized.

The wax is easily removed from the fabric by washing the garment in a washing machine.
