With the Blaser R8 hunting rifle, the calibre of the weapon can be easily changed while retaining all other functionality and parts of the weapon.

For calibers, there is a distinction between the diameter and shape of the bottom of the cartridge case, which must be embraced by the exchange clamp (nut, or breech head) of the breech. The following calibre categories can be chosen

Mini: .204Ruger, .222Rem, .223Rem

Standard: .22-250, .243 Win, 6.5x55SE, 6.5x57, .270 Win, 7x64, .308 Win, .30-06 Spr, 8x57IS(JS), 8.5x63, 9.3x57, 9.3x62

Medium: 6,5x68, 7,5x55 Suisse, 8x68 S

Magnum: .257 Weath.Mag., .270 Weath.Mag., .270 WSM, 7mm Blaser Mag., 7mm Rem Mag., .300 Blaser Mag., .300 Weath.Mag., .300Win. Mag., .300 Rem.Ultra Mag., .300 WSM, .338 Blaser Mag., .338 Win. Mag., .375 Blaser Mag., .375 HH Mag., .416 Rem Mag., .458 Lott.

Lapua: .300Norma Mag., .338 Lapua

If you are planning to, or already have a caliber from the same caliber group as the new barrel, there is no need to change anything (the magazine is always included with the new barrel). You just insert the barrel into the stock, tighten the grip in the stock and it can be used in 30 seconds.

If you buy a caliber from another group, you must also buy a breech head (pincer / nut) standard/magnum, left pincer. This pliers can be replaced in a few seconds.

The vast majority of shooters make do with standard calibers, where it is possible to buy 22-250 (very similar to 223 Rem., only with a wider cartridge) up to 9.3x62 caliber. The manufacturer guarantees a maximum possible dispersion of 1 MOA (12mm) at 100m !!!
