One of the world's most successful hunting bullets for hunting medium and heavy game is the Oryxfrom a world-renowned ammunition manufacturer Standard. According to the manufacturer's data, the projectile can withstand extreme deformations without separating the tombak jacket from the main lead core. When hit, it rapidly deforms to twice the diameter of the projectile and its controlled expansion creates a bulky wounding channel.

Despite the maximum deformation, the projectile penetrates Norma Oryx deep into the tissue and the projectile normally retains over 90% of its original weight. This is due to the extremely strong bond between the core and the jacket. Due to the ideal profiling of the jacket, there is limited collapse of the front of the projectile.
