Detailed information

Product detailed description

Cartridges for 16 caliber weapons. Can be used for weapons without target test shot.

The Hunting Act No. 449/2001 Coll., as amended, prohibits the use of "lead shot cartridges" for hunting waterfowl with effect from 31 December 2010.

Cartridges for calibre 12/70 with shot size up to 3,3mm and for calibre 16/67,5 and20/67,5 with shot size up to 3,05mm are cartridges intended for all shotguns of the given calibre, which have successfully passed the piece verification and therefore have a valid test mark stamped and of course are in good technical condition. Ammunition 12/70 and 12/76 with a shot size of 3,81mm is intended only for weapons which have passed a special pressure test and are marked with the appropriate test mark.

The plastic protector (basket) is of a different design than the one for lead shot. The basket for steel shot has thicker and longer walls, thanks to which it separates the cartridge from the barrel during the entire bore movement. If all the manufacturer's instructions are followed, the barrel cannot be damaged even with older guns. When using ammunition for which a higher pressure test is not required, any hardening can be used. For weapons that have a higher pressure test mark, you can use any hardening for calibre 12 up to a shot diameter of 4.0mma for calibre 20 up to 3.30mm. If larger diameter buckshot is to be used, the bore must be 0.5 or less.
Steel buckshot is made of a material that has a lower specific gravity than lead, and therefore loses velocity significantly sooner and thus loses its effective shot. It should be remembered that the distance you are used to hunting will be about 1/3 shorter. If you have, for example, a 12 calibre shotgun without the highest test, you can use, without risk of damaging it, the largest shot with a diameter of 3.30 mm. The ideal distance for reliably killing a duck will thus be about 20m.
